00 — START HERE: Opt-In Page

This is the setup and orientation document for the Opt-In Page kit. Read this to understand what it is, what it does, what files it needs, and how to use it.

What This Is

The Opt-In Page kit produces a single-purpose HTML landing page that captures first name + email in exchange for a free lead magnet (skill file, guide, checklist, etc.). The page is designed for paid traffic (Meta ads) and organic sharing, following a conversational-copy layout with a sticky form panel.

Audience: Prospective leads — professional services practice owners discovering the brand for the first time. Format: Single HTML file, inline styles, MailerLite embedded form. Lifecycle: One-shot per lead magnet. Updated only when the lead magnet changes or QC surfaces issues.

Operating Modes

ModeTriggerWhat It Produces
Mode 1: CreateNew lead magnet needs an opt-in pageComplete HTML opt-in page
Mode 2: ImproveQC failure, manual changes, or conversion data suggests changesUpdated kit files (golden example, output skill, quality checklist)

Mode 1 — Create New Opt-In Page

You have a lead magnet ready to distribute. You provide:

The kit produces a single HTML file ready to deploy.

Mode 2 — Improve This Kit

The self-improvement loop. After running this kit:

  1. Did I change anything in the output by hand? --> Update golden example + output skill
  2. Did QC miss something I caught? --> Update quality checklist
  3. Should the kit do something it doesn't? --> Update output skill

The rule: Every manual fix becomes a kit fix. If you fixed it by hand, update the kit so it never happens again.

What This Does NOT Do

Design Lineage

This page design draws from two proven opt-in patterns:

  1. Taki Moore "Paid To Teach" workshop page — sticky form panel on the right, conversational long-form copy on the left, repeated CTA touchpoints
  2. Nicolas Cole "Start Writing Online" opt-in — centered card design, repeated form placements, social proof line, minimal sections

The kit combines these into a two-column hero (copy left, sticky form right) with a centered "What's Inside" section and a second CTA block below — keeping the form always visible on desktop while the visitor reads.

Self-Improvement Loop

After every production run, ask:

  1. Did I change anything in the output by hand? --> If yes, Mode 2.
  2. Did QC miss something I caught? --> If yes, Mode 2.
  3. Is there something the kit should do that it doesn't? --> If yes, Mode 2.

If the answer to all three is no, the kit is working. Move on.
