Referral Activator — Quick Start

You just got a free Claude skill. Here's how to use it.

What You Need

Setup (One Time)

Step 1: Enable Code Execution

Skills require Code execution to be enabled. If you've never turned this on:

  1. Click your name or initials in the bottom-left corner
  2. Click Settings
  3. Click Capabilities
  4. Toggle on Code execution and file creation

If this is already on, skip to Step 2.

Step 2: Upload the Skill

  1. In the left sidebar, click the Customize icon (briefcase icon)
  2. Click Skills
  3. Click the "+" button
  4. Select "Upload a skill"
  5. Upload the .md file you received
  6. Toggle the skill on

That's it. The skill is installed.

Running the Skill

  1. Start a new conversation in Claude
  2. Type: "Run the Referral Activator"
  3. Paste email threads from 3-5 different clients — separate each client's thread clearly
  4. Wait about 2 minutes

You'll get back a referral activation plan: each client scored as HOT, WARM, or COLD with the evidence from their emails, a ready-to-send message for every HOT client, and specific next actions for WARM clients.

Tips

More clients = better prioritization. One client gives you a score. Three or more gives you a ranked list with clear contrast between who's ready now and who needs warming first.

Include both sides of the conversation. Your replies show how the relationship is developing — not just what the client said. Without them, the skill can't read the full dynamic.

Paste the best and the quietest. Don't just paste your 3 favorite clients. Include at least one who's gone quiet or feels like they're on autopilot. The skill might surface signals you missed, or confirm it's time to rebuild before asking.

One batch per run. Don't mix clients from different practices or businesses. Each batch should be from one firm.

Run it quarterly. Referral readiness changes. A client who was COLD 3 months ago might be HOT after a recent win. The skill is designed to be run repeatedly.

What to Paste

Any of these work:

The skill handles whatever you have. More context per client gives a more accurate read.
