The Politeness Premium — Briefing Flow

Briefing Recording Reference

Format: Wednesday 11am live, replay expires Sunday midnight

Duration: ~20-25 minutes

Before Recording

Screen setup:

Frame: This is a live walkthrough of the scoring system. You're showing them how to read triage calls differently and score prospects in real time. The article link goes in chat. The toolkit link goes at the end.

SECTION 1: THE HOOK (2-3 min)

Open with the question:

"How many hours did your last wrong-fit client actually cost you? Not the contract hours. The real hours. Scope creep. Payment chasing. The sleep. The proposals you rewrote. The prospects you turned away because you were at capacity."

Tell the $44,500 story (compressed):

"I worked with two advisors last year who both said yes to the wrong client. One lost $11,000 in absorbed cost. The other lost $44,500 when you include the prospects he turned away. Different industries. Same pattern. Both told me the signs were there in the first conversation."

Name the mechanism:

"There's a name for what happened. I call it The Politeness Premium — the invisible cost of evaluating prospects by social skill instead of scoring criteria."

SECTION 2: THE DECODER (5-7 min)

Transition:

"Let me show you what I mean. Here are phrases from actual triage calls. I want you to guess which ones are red flags."

Walk through the Decoder in the article:

Key moments to emphasize:

Land the insight:

"The phrases that feel good on a call score lowest. The phrases that feel uncomfortable score highest. Your gut rewards charm. The scoring system rewards readiness. Those are measuring different things."

SECTION 3: THE SYSTEM (5-7 min)

Transition:

"So what do you measure instead? Six things."

Walk through the 6 criteria:

Show the Simulator:

Key teaching moment:

"Notice David isn't obviously bad. He's not a clear 2. He's ambiguous — high on some things, low on others. That's where most real triage decisions actually live. The system doesn't just catch the obvious nightmares. It catches the ones your gut would have said yes to."

SECTION 4: THE PATTERN (3-4 min)

Transition:

"Here's what happens when you run this on your existing clients."

Reference the Retrospective Scorer:

"I want you to try this after the briefing. Think of your worst client, your best client, and one in between. Score each on Values, Time, and Money. 1 through 5."

"I can tell you what you'll find before you do it. The 2s cluster. The 4s and 5s cluster. Your worst clients don't fail on one dimension — they fail on all three. Your best clients succeed on all three."

Land it:

"The pattern always tells the truth. It was there in the first 20 minutes. You just didn't have numbers for it."

SECTION 5: THE CONSTRAINT (2-3 min)

Transition:

"Now here's the honest part. You now know the system. You understand the six criteria. You could run this on your next triage call."

Build the decay curve:

"Tomorrow you'll remember it. By the fifth call, you'll forget to score Style. By the tenth call, you're back to gut feel. The Politeness Premium is running again."

"That's not a knowledge problem. It's a deployment problem. The system works. The question is whether it runs automatically or only when you remember."

SECTION 6: THE CTA (2 min)

Two levels:

Level 1 — The Toolkit ($27):

"I built the scoring system as two GPT-powered tools. The Triage Prep Assistant gives you conversation starters matched to each criterion. The Score Assistant takes what they said and gives you scores and a verdict. Works in 20 minutes. Link's in the chat."

Level 2 — Advisory OS (soft mention):

"If you want this built into how your practice actually handles triage — so it runs on every prospect, by anyone on your team, whether you're thinking about it or not — that's what we deploy in Advisory OS. But start with the toolkit and see the pattern for yourself first."
